ok, im pretty sure i have r12. i have a few roms, but some of them wont play, and the ones that do are amazingly laggy with horrible sound. ive been messing with the preferences for a while but nothing seems to help (i have it a skip 2 frames and it lags even w/o sound). a couple of games, the screens black, but i can still get to the menu, but one just freezes. does it matter if their .rom or .n64 or .v64?

I'm pretty sure that is just the nature of that emulator. It's still not perfect because the developer is has to try and optimize the use of the little resources the PSP offers. Some games work ok, some don't. But I believe ALL games go slow still.

Mario64 is your best bet.
