Ir Shell

It won't let me run my homebrew apps. I get an error while trying to start it. I don't want to go to XMB every time I want to play a game.

Thanks in advance.

The reason why your homebrew doesn't work is because you are booting into FW3.xx iR Shell and your homebrew is for FW1.5. Hit L+R Trigger and choose to load 1.5 EBOOT of iR Shell or hold CIRCLE to boot straight into it.

1.5 EBOOT (red icon) is for homebrew and some other stuff
3.xx EBOOT (white icon) is for UMDs, ISOs, Sony demos etc.

i had this same problem. put your kernel into 1.50. then go into seplugins and DISABLE the plugin. instead now when you turn it on it will go to the normal xmb. go to the game folder and go into the second irshell icon down (the red one) and you will get one with a shadow char in the background. go to apps and you should have your homebrew.

2 problems with that,

1. The second one down is the tree one,
2. Still didn't work.

3.2.2 Predefined Homebrew 1 to 5:
These icons allows you to directly launch 5 pre-defined homebrew applications for fast access
without the need to go through the APP View. First, you'll need to install the pre-defined
homebrews to any of these directories.

For example, your homebrew is called "Name" & "Name%". You copy your homebrew files
from the "Name" folder to "ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RIGHT", or other shortcut directories.
You don't need the "Name" folder. Then, you rename your EBOOT.PBP from "Name%" folder to
EBOOT%.PBP and placed it to "ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RIGHT".

You can also optionally change your homebrew name from "Predefined Homebrew" to anything
you like under "iR Shell Configurator". Read the FAQ for more info. Available Shortcut folders:
ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RIGHT/
ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RLEFT/
ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RUP/
ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RRIGHT/
ms0:/IRSHELL/HOMEBREW/RDOWN/

Thanks a bunch!

So If I put my homebrew in those folders and run them from the shortcuts, will they work? If not, well.. I still have that problem.

Well you take whatever is inside the name and name% folders and drop them into one of the directories listed and then it should work when you click on one of the icons to run homebrew. Be sure to rename the eboot from name% to EBOOT%.PBP before dropping it into a directory as well.

If your still having trouble i'll take a picture and outline what you need to do.

If worse comes to worse, theres always the option of running your homebrew through the app viewer as well as that should work without having to change anything.

Problem: I see 3 folders that I think I can put stuff inside.

HOMEBREW15
HOMEBREW2X
HOMEBREW3X

I'm guessing it's in the 15 one, right?

Edit: Congrats, 666 posts!
Edit: HOMEBREW15 Didn't work, now I have more questions.

Should I enable the Irshell plugin again?
What kernal should I use?

Yeah lol 666

But anyways...this is how i have mine set up. (might want to double check to see if you did diff)
(im on 1.50 kernel by the way)
When i initially installed my irshell 3.6

inside the psp folder that comes with the download there a few game folders. all i placed on my mem stick was the game150 one. i then placed my irshell and seplugins folder on the root of my stick.(this is all thats needed if your on custom firmware) after that was done, i exited my usb connection and scrolled to the memory stick under games then used the btnconfig. once that was done i turned off my psp then booted into recovery and made sure the irsfw30x.prx was disabled and the capture.prx was enabled.

Once that was finished i followed the instructions listed above and it worked fine.
and yes your correct its homebrew15

By the way if you have multiple irshells its because you installed them for each firmware the only one you need would be the game150 one... game271 is for 2.71 se-c and game352 is for 3.52M33 but the game150 one works on all custom firmwares anyway.

If your still confused send me a pm with your msn and i'll run thru it for you on there a lot quicker.
