Post count does "mean" something, but diehard has a serious point. I agree with diehard more - the quality of the posts tends to build up character and show contribution MUCH faster than a 1,000+ post count. I mean, take me for example. When I first came here I wasn't even a normal member. I was a moderator here at 0 posts. I got criticism all around from just about everybody - and to some degree, it was deserved. Here I was, just some new guy, and I was a moderator. But after I began writing my tutorials and straightening things out + helping people a lot, people got off my back a little and gave me the respect I truly deserved.
I don't really think post count is all that important - but it DOES help to give the person character and influence over other members.
