Upgrading question.

On my PSP I, I'm running on 3.40 OE-A. Would it be adviseable to update to 3.71-M33 now, or later?

Well if i was you i would upgrade to 3.52-4. That would be best first....... And besides you have to be at 3.52-4 before you can upgrade to 3.71 M33. 3.52-4 has more themes and it is easier to understand. If you dont like it move up to 3.71-2 M33. If you need more help i can help.

...Change the kernel? WTFs?

I've tried other options, like running the updater in 1.5irShell, and 3.7, but I keep getting "Application can not be launched"

EDIT: I got the kernel changed, but I get "Corrupted Data" when I try to access the file.

Did you put it into the GAME folder and not GAME 150? If so then download from somewhere else. Get the download. And go through it all the way to where the EBOOT is. Copy that folder and paste it into GAME

Actually, I got pissed and copied it to all of the GAME folders, including the folders inside of GAME itself... <.<;;; Now I've like, 6 or 7 "Corrupted Data" icons.

So, I've been trying to update on and off to m33-4. In the original XMB, I still get "Corrupted Data", when set in the right place, but, when I go into iR Shell 3.7, it finds it, but then I get "Error running application".

EDIT: Also, in iR Shell 1.5, I tried running the eboot. It starts to load, but then the orange light stays on, and then the PSP shuts down. No brick, but it does go back to 3.7

Major, WTFs.

Well then.......All i can say is download it somewhere else. Like psp-hacks. And then after downloading it, go through all the files until you reach the EBOOT and the other files with it. Copy that FOLDER and put it into GAME. Switch your kernal to 3.52 and try...........

Follow newspspdudes tut and that should help

So, I've had some free time lately, and I tried to update to m33-4 again. This time, I can't find a copy of the eboot at all. Every time I download it, all I obtain is an empty .rar/.zip file, or with the LICENSE.txt file only, or simply a "This file is corrupt/Is an invalid database". Where'd you guys get your copy of the eboot?

EDIT:

Disregard, I made out with the torrents, and it put out :D.

I've found an alternate way to bring up the M33-4 update. iRShell 1.5 is needed to do so.

Once in iRShell, select the Directory View, and go through the folders untill you found where the EBOOT is saved. (Mine was downloaded into PSP/COMMON, and was booted from there, so I suggest downloading it to that directory)
Run the EBOOT
Follow the M33-4 on screen instructions.
Finished! :D

Simple, and I didn't realize this before. I'm -dumb-

EDIT:

Google and torrents have failed. Where the frig do I get the "umodule.prx" file?
