.EXE patches for PC games??

Do any of you know where to download them? They are essentially "patches" that make your game so that you don't need the disc in order to play the game. My main computer is a laptop, and I have a number of PC games installed. Taking all of the game discs with me only makes things more bulky and less "travel friendly".

Games in particular:

The Elder Scrolls Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls Morrowind
Grand Theft Auto 3 - Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Age of Mythology Gold
Matrix Path of Neo

Ummm...
they're legal, I don't know
why you sent a PM lol...

A FANTASTIC site that you
can get these for free, is:

  Code:
www.gamecopyworld.com

It's great, check it out.
A recent study shows that 98% of all
teenagers smoke pot, or have tried pot.
If you are one of the 79% of those who
don't give a sh*t, post this in your signature.

Well, they're only legal in the sense that you must own the game first, so in this case, it's legal. Otherwise, no. Thanks for the PM DA and the site. I'll check em out.

Edit~ Two things. 1. DA sent me the link in a PM b/c it would have been against the rules for him to send it in the open. 2. Awesome site, PSP Man!!

Lets say I wanted to get halo 2:
http://m0004.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_halo_2.shtml

Where would I find this patcher that lets me play without the CD?
Also im not sure how this works, does it just look for an installed directory of your game and patch it?

Thnx 4 da link btw*

Too bad though, I wish there was some kind of patch that made it so you could play Halo 2 vista on xp.

I don't think that gamecopyworld has Halo 2 yet... didn't look for it though. I looked for Halo 1, and got that though. Also Mailas, your graphics card is a 7300gt or gs right? If so, Halo 2 wouldn't really look all too great... the resolution would have to be dumbed down quite a bit. I guess if you're fine with that, then it's all good. I can crank the settings with my laptop's 7600go for Halo 1, but I'd probably have to use half of the 1440x900 resolution that I'm using now to run Halo 2 smoothly ... and I have a more powerful card than you.

Let's say you got a Halo 2 .exe patch though. To get it working, you'd goto, "program files" -> "Microsoft Games" -> "Halo 2", then you'd find the icon of the master chief or w/e (the .exe application starter), and you copy the new one you downloaded, and overwrite the old one. I recommend backing up your original, of course.

I'm not sure about running Halo 2 on XP - but is dual-booting an option? It's quite easy to pirate an OS.

I will NOT install vista. It will ruin my life.
I could really use some information on how this is done, and some good links to cracks/patches for Halo 2 to be run on XP.
Because I might get for Christmas.
