2 quick question (AVI and use of Pandora battery)

Hi there! I've got two quick question.

My PSP has been modded with an Pandora battery to 3.71 M33-2.
If later on there will be a new CFW, will I have to use the battery again, or can i upgrade it without it?
Also, is there any way of playing avi files directly from the memory stick? (without converting or streaming).

You won't need the Pandora's Battery to upgrade to future CWF, you just need the files.
I think you can play .avi files in your 'VIDEO' folder.

.avi files just says "Unsupported data"

Hm well I guess not, you can convert the .avi files to .mp4 or something using www.media-convert.com or PSPVideo9.
