im new to custom firmware how can i install irshell 3.8

Try going into Recovery Mode, then go to 'Advanced' then 'Advanced Configuration' and

Disable 'Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO.

Then Enable 'Plain modules in UMD/ISO.

how do you go into Recovery Mode??

You hold down the 'R' button while you boot your psp.

i try that it doesnt do nothing

Keep messing with the recovery mode settings, they should trigger something and it might work.

Oh, i thought you said that the advanced thing didn't work. Not sure why you can't get into recovery mode. All you should have to do is

Turn your PSP on.
Then hold the power switch up for a few seconds, until your PSP turns fully off.
Then wait a few seconds after you turn it off.
Then hold the 'R' button while holding the power switch up to turn your PSP back on.

Not sure. Are you turning your PSP off all the way? or are you just quickly putting the switch up?

GAH! Of coarse! I thought you where on custom firmware this whole time. Lol.. but yea, you need to be on custom firmware since iR Shell is a homebrew app. What firmware are you on now?
