Error code 80010002 - looking for a fix

I am new to the site and I may find my answer as I dig deeper, but I am going to post my request anyway. I have an errot code - 80010002, UMD can't be started - is there a tutorial addressing this error code with a 'how to fix'? I have replaced the laser - didn't work - I have read on one list that you should run 'PSP radio and GB emulator' and would appreciate any one with a 'how to'.
Thanks for any help.... the newb. - Don

Well. First off, do you have a fat or slim psp? What firmware is on your psp? What exactly are you trying to run when you get the error?

It seems he can't get his UMD games to work, like his disc laser thing isn't working.

are you sure it's not 80010013, because if it is, it means the disc is corrupt because it can't find the media.

(don't ask how i know... lol!)

Error code 80010002 - looking for a fix

Everything boots up fine - dashboard, wifi, etc. - but when I try to run a UMD disk I get the above error code. I hear a scraping sound when it tries to load up, but the disk does spin. the graphics scramble if I have the auto play set to 'on'. One site for the above error code says ' putting the POPS EBOOT in the wrong folder.'
Any clues for a fix? - Don

Usually when you hear that grinding sound it means that either the laser is not sliding down its rail freely, or the umd isnt sitting inside properly.

Check to make sure that your umd isnt catching on anything when you put it in and that the black nubbs sit in the umd holes.
