I remember when I was a kid, I got a kick out of MTV, when it used to promote music and try to unite people under one rooftop known as "music".

It used to stand for nonconformity, revolution, and transcendentalism

but

now

it seems to be drowning in it's own vomit due to trying to appeal to a wider market and giving up on what they originally set out to do, and that was "Play good music".

but Mtv is not the only one...

well see the new generation has their own idea of good media...
and you cant blame us, i mean i watch old stuff and it just bores me to death.

but as for me i think its the parents/friends fault. I see was once a very good kid, but then i started hanging around what you all would call "wiggers" and i was changing RREEEAALLL FAST, i starting dressing ghetto, i got in fights, grades KINDA dropped and i started to smoke....

but then idk its like mostly myself but my parents also kept me going right. and now im a good kid, i really dont do drugs, maybe here and there sometimes, i ABSOLUTELY hate alcohol and smoking!! which is amazing because all of todays young poeple do that stuff.

but im saying friends, ESPECIALLY parents are the biggest factor.
I mean you dont see a rich parents children become a ghetto and drug addict, tis mostly poor families who are not well educated.

But i have a questions, WHAT do you think about fighting?

I mean i see my friends they think fighting is the answer to everything, i used to be the same. But now im mor mature and see how stupid it is, when you can resolve conflicts with words why fight?

i mean the last fight i had made me want to cry because of how much i damaged the other person, i mean it was sooo bloody. And it was over some stupid sh*t, he said something about me that i ddint like and i fought him instead of just talking to him. AND GUESS WHAT!!! and became REALLY good friends after HAHAHAHAH.

It is the new generation that is the problem. Before I get off, this is NOT a racial issue.

Rap is a excelent genre of music, I personally stick to the older stuff(NWA, Public Enemy, Paris, Tupac etc.), some people don't find rap and hip-hop enjoyable, I don't find the newer stuff enjoyable simply because most of it is fake. By fake I mean, get-rich-quick rappers who promote an immoral or unhealthy lifestyle specifically aimed at the impressionable.

It can be said that the parents of children are to blame,but only to a certain extent. The parents of impressionable children need to protect their children from only certain things.

I have a few friends, who come from wealthy families, who are in my opinion, more impressionable, due to being ostracized by their peers.

I personally think fighting is a last resort, diplomacy is the best choice.

but it is all the effect of mainstream society. We all have this idea that since it is a new millennium, we have to step up a level from the last generation. If you ask me, this kinda sounds like the turn of the century (start of the 1900s). Europe was becoming industrialized and Germany was gaining power. But thats a larger scale than I care to analyze.

One of my biggest problems, is new music that I am hearing, some songs I like, but the majority of new music I am hearing from new bands and groups sickens me, but not to the point that I b**ch about it.

Actually a lot of rich prep school people get all emo and there is this rich side of town where all the rich white kids do crack. I mean being "emo" is so gay.

Exactly Kline, all the shows now direct at acting out, drinking and doin drugs. I never watch MTV npw, its the gayest channel ever. Idk about fighting, but I can hold my own. It's hard to get in a strict school.

there is some decent rap. i can say this despite liking mostly hardcore metal. which will ALWAYS be hardcore metal. but soulja boy? thats the irritating thing ever. its no wonder everyone thinks they are going to be this kick a$$ rapper, after THAT? i think even MYSELF can be a better rapper. but noooo everyone at my school LOVES it. its better then sliced bread. which is quite sad.

as for fighting. i grew up in a family full of knuckleheads. 9 cousins all boys and a sadistic older brother. to me i think a little bit more fighting and i could straighten some people out. like these snot nosed little idiots i see at school everyday. im a senior and kids in jr high think they can take you on. its pathetic and trust me they need a good beat down not by me of course but by maybe some better educated jr high kids.

rich kids dont bother me really since no one in my school is above middle class. only drug problem we have is weed. which is harmless really

i have a feeling the next gen will be terrible. but THEIR kids will hopefully have so much crap to deal with that they'll grow up

i mean i see my friends, since its illegal they all want to try it out and look all cool smoking and stuff like that. Or have sex and be like " oh i had sex before you did and its illegal!!!"
but if they weren't illegal it wouldnt be such a big deal and i dont think so many people would do drugs and alcohol.

I think that they say teens shouldnt have sex is completely stupid, but i see my friends getting pregnant and its sad, ur only f*ckin 14 use condoms lol.

But if these things were normal and not illegal i believe not as many people would be doing pills, drinking, and all this other stuff....

People will get high and shoot somebody and they will get off by saying they weren't conscious and not in the right state of mind when they did it.
Well i guess if you are 14 it would be a little embarrassing to go into a store and buy some condoms.
But drugs can make people stupid, so I don't think they should be legal, we already have enough stupid people. It could ruin someones bright future if they get into the wrong stuff.

This would be ineffective.

While making something off-limits does strike curiosity into the heart of humanity, simply making it reachable wouldn't stop people from doing something that feels good.
