Berserk (did anyone mention this? if not wow)
Cowboy Bebop
X tv series
FLCL
Hellsing OVA (the new ones are like 100 times better than the original tv series, and i like the original tv series, they are perfect and so badass)

for series those are my top

movies, i dunno there are a bunch of good ones[/b]

h4s30, I agree with you dude, I was only able to watch later DBZ and GT through the online channels, otherwise I'd never have sat for half an hour and watch the time span of like 5 mins (and i was ultimately disappointed). Akira Toriyama never wanted to go beyond DBZ either, he wanted it to be left alone hence the way it ends, whereas the animation studio had other ideas (cos fans demanded more) and upon changing the name they were able to continue it on..

FLCL? I don't know this, what's it like?

urotsukidoji... anyone know of this animé?

haha no, there are no people getting cut up with katanas sorry

if you want anime other than series, a great movie is Ninja Scroll (well actually they have a series now haven't watched it though) lots of people getting cut up in that movie ... a lot of people

great movie though, would suggest seeing it if you haven't already, its considered quite a classic in anime

my recommendations for anime:

General:
Berserk
Hayate No Gotoku (Combat Butler Hayate)
Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star)
Hagane No Renkinjutsu (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Cowboy Bebop
Darker Than Black
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Samurai Champloo
Dragonball
Dragonball Z (good, even though it is the birthplace of Namek Syndrome
Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad
Hellsing
Ruroni Kenshin
Street Fighter V
Death Note
Ronin Warriors
FLCL
Cromarte High School

Lupin III

Mech:
G Gundam
Gurren Laggan
Gundam Wing
Neon Genesis Evangelion (The only emo mech anime I can tolerate because of it's greatness)
GaoGaiGar

Moe:
AzuMangaDaioh
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suizama
Lucky Star
Karin (For those of you who read manga, it's also known as Chibi Vampie)
Hayate No Gotoku (it pretty much falls into this category as well)
Sailor Moon

Movies:
Cowboy Bebop the Movie
Mind Game
Akira
Dragonball Z: The Tree Of Life
The Death Note movies (Technically not anime, but worth checking out)
Princess Mononoke
Kiki's Delivery Service
Howl's Moving Castle
Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind
The Castle of Cagliostro
Grave of The Fireflies (This one made me f**king cry)

Now for the undersirables:
Naruto (Here come the flames, but in all honesty, it's such a terrible anime. Flat characters, boring story, hell, the only good parts of the anime were Rock Lee, and it did have an AMAZING soundtrack)
Bleach [oops, I did it again. It is one of those animes that has an awesome cast of voice actors especially the english dub, KANEDAAAA) and an amazing soundtrack, but had horrible characters, horrible story, and a horrible case of Namek syndrome)
Big O [I guess I'm just not into the same recycles mech storyline (AKA: Killing is wrong, I don't want to fight anymore, I'm gonna go listen to hawthorne heights)]
Saint Seya (Sorry guys, just because you have an 80's rock soundtrack does not mean you are a quality anime, also, Namek Syndrome)
Inuyasha ( Hey guys are we still on Namek? yup)
Dragonball GT (Way to go guys, you have properly beaten the dead horse)
New Fist of The North Star (Hey guys, lets take a classic anime, and give it more color and an uneeded revamp)

Thats it for now...

I love FLCL, the outro sound track is awesome! Love it! So random!

Afro Samurai is pretty sweet too, short and sweet!

I checked out Ghost in the Shell, Everyone i've ever known to like animé has had either a few or the whole collection of that show, but I watched the first few episodes, and I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected.. It's pretty cool, with the technology, does it get better? i mean, i only got to E3..

The term comes from the planet Namek that they cast goes to in the Frieza saga.

Having Namek Syndrome means that a series has too many fillers. DBZ had a crazy amount of fillers, but by far the worst is Inuyasha.

A series can also be described as having Namek Syndrome by being very long-winded.

This is a reference to one of Freiza's lines:

"This planet is going to blow in about 15 minutes!"

About 30 episodes later that are almost done fighting on said planet.
