It says "servants" not slaves in the Bible. It just tells them to not be unruly, God is saying that you should be obedient and basically don't bite the hand that feeds you, in a sense to respect your employer.
farquezy wrote:Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. (Ephesians 6:6 NLT)
The true verse reads as follows: Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
This has nothing to do with slavery, all it states is work wholeheartedly and not just when people are looking.
farquezy wrote:Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Ephesians 6:7 NLT)
That has nothing to do with slavery.
farquezy wrote:However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
Where the hell did you get this reference? Did you make it up or something, this is totally opposite of mine. Mine speaks for Israel not to treat each other with rigor, and it speaks of maids but it just tells them to respect them.
farquezy wrote:so the bible doesnt support slavery? than whats this?
Well there you have it, like 3 of those versus had nothing to do with slavery.
.. it is true that you take stuff out of context, like before when it spoke about the death to unbelievers. That was an OATH among men, not a pledge from God.
And I'm guessing those sites are where you copied this stuff from.
