Different people have different reasons for gun control. Fact is, the public doesn't really NEED guns.
In America's gun saturated society it will take a long time for strict gun control laws to make a difference, but the fact is the 2nd amendment is outdated and unnecessary.

You are 100% correct on everything you stated. For most every day people a class III license just isn't practical. I also understand that you need good reason to ask for one and I really just can't think of one.
