Limited Edition Games

So lots of games come out with limited edition and one of my favorite games. Uncharted didn't. Well with Uncharted 2 they just announced it. Well there will only be one. In the whole world....

I think this is a pretty bad idea. SOOOO many people want a limited edition of it, and they give us this crap? 1!!!!! What do you think of this? Think more games will do this?

That's crazy, I know a lot of people that are hyped about this game and would definitely buy this.
If companies like the results then they might try to do this too, but I think they would rather take their profits from
limited edition game sales than giving away the game.

Part of the package is that they are signed by some of the staff, so... they can't really mass-market that kind of merchandise. I do think it's kind of foolish that they are just making it so that you have to WIN it, but at the end of the day, the dagger will just end up as clutter in a year, the signatures won't mean anything unless the package is never opened, the art booklet will be available to view online, and none of those things will stop you from enjoying the game as it was meant to be originally.

I still would think it would be better to have them put out about 1,000 - 2,000 of these for commercial use though, or even auction some off for charity.

games, except MGS4 but I bought it earlier this year along with the official guide for $40.

Same. But still like make it retail. It doesn't have to me signed but give us the dagger, and art book etc. Like I pre ordered Assassins Creed 2. I am getting a figure that is like 10 inchs tall or something. Its not that hard to do!

All ODST got was the saegent guy in-game .

Halo wars came with some cool stuff though.

There are definitely more and more being brought out. I think it was really right about when Halo 2 was going to pre-order with a Helmet or something with the metal tin that I think the money-giants figured out that if they added a 12 cent item made in Taiwan and an "art booklet" that their interns make who aren't even on payroll - they'd make a million dollars more.

LOL yeah probably, makes sense. But its weird sometimes when I see a limited edition for a game that isn't very well known.
For instance, Dragon Age: Origins has a limited edition set but not many people know about it.
