I downgraded my friends psp with this, and don't mind the error at the end of it, it will just reset the psp and make you re-enter the settings, and it worked like a charm, (beautifully i might add).

May i suggest you downgrade before your new memory stick arrives? It will probably be one of the best decisions you'll make for a while. You can fit enough homebrew on a 32mg stick, as long as you don't fill it up with music, to whet your appetite for homebrew that will be available to you once you have more memory.
