Instead of using the mph downgrader, due to the possibility of getting a trojan (because i don't know if the overflow.tif is recognised as trojan.pspbrick or whatever by my antivirus is a sign or anything), and use psp Set X, here, and tweak the firmware to 1.0, exit the eLoader and update from the psp's menu with the 1.5 update, you can find it at http://dl.qj.net in the psp firmware section, or i bet this wonderful site has the eboot file too.
I downgraded my friends psp with this, and don't mind the error at the end of it, it will just reset the psp and make you re-enter the settings, and it worked like a charm, (beautifully i might add).
If you don't have the eLoader get it at http://noobz.eu.
May i suggest you downgrade before your new memory stick arrives? It will probably be one of the best decisions you'll make for a while. You can fit enough homebrew on a 32mg stick, as long as you don't fill it up with music, to whet your appetite for homebrew that will be available to you once you have more memory.
Back, and playing with my "zompsp".

Thats cool I didnt realize you could even do that. But just in case you are wrong in any way, we dont take any responsibliity if something does go wrong.

I just wish that someone would find a way to fake the firmware, like when using set/set x, with the new kernal access in 2.5/6 PSPs, then we wouldn't need to worry about something that completely downgrades your psp, just to make sure that the PSP is fully tricked into thinking it's a 1.0, so we can update to 1.5

It looks like we will see a beta downgrade tommorrow with a 60 percent chance of working. Oh and the newer firmwares are to smart to be tricked like that

By the way, the new V5 downgrader had a high success rate from what I could tell, only for those who didn't have TA-082 motherboards (definite brick) and people who had factory 2.5/6s shouldn't do it either, I believe there were very few successes except for a few skeptical ones. I even had a success, 2.01 --> 2.6 --> 1.5 :D

Ok have been away for a while so still stuck on 2.0 buuuuuuut hopefully not for too long.... Going to attempt to downgrade on Monday eve  (working graveyard shift so will have plenty of me time and no interuptions to do this.) Hopefully the psp gods will be looking down on me favorably and all will go smoothly....
I shall report back later with results... If it goes good then may there be plenty of drinking, if it goes bad then there will be plenty of drinking!
